The Lakehouse, Newfield NJ

Okay, let’s talk about one of my hometown favorites. Well technically my hometown is Washington Township where I have a lot of ‘hometown favs’ but this is my new hometown fav. Along with two others, but we’ll get there another time. The Lakehouse checks so many boxes. It has a dining area, a front bar with a live piano artist, a back bar with big tvs and an outdoor area with beautiful lake views and bonfires. This place definitely has it regulars, and I can understand why. The staff is so friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere varies by room, but all clean and cozy. And the food and drinks are amazing. Let’s talk about my favorites. First off. Stuffed. Chicken. Dinner. I try to steer away but I just can’t. Perfectly cooked chicken stuffed with cream cheese and roasted peppers in a sun-dried tomato cream sauce sub rice for mashed potatoes. Now their soup. Both were soup of days but their tomato bisque and carrot soup. Amazing. But that carrot soup, let’s just say when I’m on baby number 2 I will be there 5 days a week begging for that carrot soup. The nachos are packed with toppings and no lack of flavor. The Chesapeake fries are decadent and delicious with lump crab and American cheese. If you’re a short rib fan you need to try the braised short rib penne with a tomato white cheddar sauce, or a seafood fan you must try the crab stuffed shrimp. The Philly cheesesteak egg rolls with that spicy ketchup never disappoint and if you want just a beer and an app try the curly chicken with both the Thai chili and orange ginger sauce on the side to dip. If you’re in the mood for some KBooze the margarita flight is fun and totally instagram worthy.
